Anyone know of a reasonably priced inkjet printer that can be used with DOS based programs?

there should be no reason why any inkjet printer wouldnt work with DOS.

try dabs.com

It may work if the inkjet could emulate an old printer such as a HP Laserjet

.

I don't think a USB printer will work from DOS, but a printer connected to LPT1 (1st parallel port) should work. My Epson Stylus Photo 890 does I think. You can test a printer by doing a DIR at the DOS command line and then pressing the PRINT SCREEN button or by using the command

DIR > LPT1:

Thanks everyone for the replies.

The reason i was asking is cos i've had problems getting any old inkjet to work. I had to pay out loads for an epson c80 last time and all it's used for is to print out diagdostics from an old machine.

i know what you mean about the USB ports. I'll try a few i have laying around and see what happnes.

cheers again!
