Domain Name Extension

I'm seting up a website for a small non profit making social club, and am concerned about our domain name. Is there any difference, from the point of view of being found by search engines, if we call ourselves:

So far we've not paid for search engine submission, but I'll put several links on key websites which will hopefully point towards us. Given that we are non profit making, would we be better with the .org.uk extension?

All advice welcomed please!

I don't think the extension will influence search engines.

i agree with graham
google works on a google bot searcher
it searches all websites and its links to find out which are on sites more and which ar of other sites less and other complicated ways that they o it.
it shudnt influence the goooooogle bots..

Do not pay for search engine submissions.

I have a .co.uk and a .org.uk domains. Both were found by the spiders within 4 weeks of uploading them to the web.

The spiders look for "keywords" not domain names. I was told it was something to do with "metatags" whatever they are!

If you have the budget, a .com domain has more psatz. Not sure of the spelling.
