Hi,

Can you please advise me if this sounds ike a decent spec gaming PC:

Q6600 9.6ghz
4096 MB DDR2 667 BRANDED MEMORY
500 GB 16MB CACHE SATA HARD DRIVE
20X DUAL LAYER LIGHTSCRIBE DVDRW DRIVE
GIGABIT LAN 1000 MB/S NETWORK CARD
ONBOARD SOUND
ATI HD 2400 1GB HYPER MEMORY DIRECT X10 PCI EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD

This PC is going to be mainy for gaming and simple processing tasks, want a quad for the future so not int in a duo.

How does this sound for less than £500???

Can anyone recommend a better one?

Thanks for your help

Does this whole lot come in a package,i.e. an already made desktop tower with Windows installed?
Who made it,can you give a link?

The weakest link is the Graphic card, you're guaranteed disappointing when you play some high demanding games.(Don't let the 1GB hyper memory mislead you,it's the GPU chip that matters)

I've come up with some alternatives as below:

CPU Q8200 (£136.98)click here (your Q6600 is obsolete now)

Motherboard Asus P5Q se/r(£85.74) click here

Corsair DDR2 Ram (£35.99)800MHZ instead of your 667MHZ click here

WD 500GB harddrive (£49.14) click here

LiteOn LH-20A1H 20x DVD±RW-RAM DL Lightscribe IDE Int Black (£15.29) click here

Sapphire HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 HDMI DVI VGA PCI-E Graphics Card (£113.83) click here

All for £436.97 when you choose for 5days supersave option.

Hi,

Thanks for your help retep, I would prefer to get a q6600 which I can pick up quite cheap from ebay. Would that work with that mobo?

Also can you recommend a case and psu?

The Q6600 works perfectly ok with that mobo.

Case click here

PSU (It might seem a bit expensive but never skimp on this) click here
