DNS Error Message

Hello to all Forum Members

I have recently started having serous problems with my BT Total Broadband service.

I have the BT Home Hub (I have seen on this Forum that the Router is not reliable), and on the whole I have not had reason to complain.

However, it appears my Boradband connection is being lost, and I receive the following error message in IE7;

"Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage
Most Likely Cause
You are not connected to the internet
The website is encountering problems"

Also in the status bar at the bottom of the browser it says "DNS Error"

I have used the BT Help.exe which says my Broadband connection is working, yet I cannot surf anywhere, what the hell si going on?

I would be so grateful (as always)for any advice.

To do is to power off the router, wait a couple of mins. Power it on again, wait until it has syncd with the line then try again.

You could try.Control panel.Network connections.Right click local area connection and press repair.See if that shows any faults. Or Control panel.Administrative tools. Services.Scroll down to DNS client and make sure it is set to automatic.
