Just got round to it about 20 mins ago....all work no play etc etc.....what i have done (now i've got my taskmanager back)was I clicked on dllhost.exe in taskmanager and 'ended process' now operating at full speed..although when you shutdown/restart computer it comes back again...repeat process.it hasn't had any affect at all on my machine..seems to be working a-o.k. Like yourself i found the link a mite confusing.

The Microsoft link says it applies to Win 2000; you're running XP.

Can you search for dllhost.exe and tell me how many you find and where they are?

or possibly dllhost*

(I couldn't find dllhost.exe on my pc at all)
