DLink router problems

  ukteacherman 09:32 22 Oct 08

I rent a room, and the house owner has a DLink router. I am using a Cpmpaq Presario V4000. I entered the dode, and it accepted it, but the connection is little or no activity because an IP address has not been given. Tried switching the router off for 5 minutes, and re-booting. nobody else has a problem, so is it my setup in the wireless connection. I have used wireless elsewhere without a problem

Try by ethernet cable. Also check in IP properties that it is configure to receive an IP automatically. I think this can actually also sometimes happen if the security code is not accepted.

If you can connect by ethernet cable, try deleting all existing wireless "profiles" (instructions click here ) and then go through the procedure to "Connect" again.
