DLink DSL 504 ADSL - connect to a switch?

Hi,

I was just wondering if a DLink DSL 504 ADSL router (4 port) can be connected to a standard ethernet switch to increase the number of computers connected to it, or is this not possible? It would save running multiple cables if this could be done.

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Gaz

Any ideas?

Shouldn't be a problem

OK thanks for your help... just missed your posting earlier, so I've only just noticed it now. I'll look into some cheap switches tomorrow.

Thanks again,

Gaz

it will probably be much easier buying a router/switch combo rather than having two seperate units

Thanks for the reply - I have only just noticed it today!

Although it's easier, it's just the position of the current ADSL modem router that is the problem. It would mean running 2 ethernet cables upstairs, and space is an issue. I was trying to use the same cable for both PCs upstairs so yesterday I connected an old hub, but unfortunately it didn't seem to work.

I've started a new thread on this now - just thought I'd post it here: click here

Gaz
