I have set up a distribution list to send one email to several recipients. Is it possible to configure the email in such a way that each recipient is unaware of the others ie in the "to" box it only shows the individual recipient's name and not the whole distribution list.

Thanks
Mike

Put one recipient in the To: box, the others in the Bcc: box. Bcc = Blind Carbon Copy.

kumo22,

Yes, it is, and you should to that for data protection reasons.

As recap suggests, putting the individual addresses (or distribution list address) into BCC will mean recipients only see their own address.

Outlook will let you specify only BCC recipients (i.e. leave the To: field blank). Some clients don't do this. If you're using a client of this type, simply put the address you are sending the message from in To:.

HTH,

Gary

Thank you both,

Common sense prevails. I should have thought of that myself
