Display Resolutions?

Hiya all I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 and I connect to my TV via S-Video. It all works great but (I fink am I am right in saying) that S-Video only outputs a display of 1024 x 768 and I run my monitor at 1280 x 1024. When I change my output source back to the monitor it reverts my monitor back to 1024 x 768. Is there any way that I can change this so my monitor will always stay at 1280 x 1024? Also is there a way I can have a dual display where what I see on monitor I see on the TV at present I have to have one or the other.

Thanx
