Display resolution stuck at 640 x 480

I downloaded some updates last night from the Microsoft website one of which included an update for Philips monitors one of which I have.

After restarting, my screen resolution only offers 640 x 480 with 4bit colour quality (lowest) from Control Panel, Display, Settings.

Its a modern computer with rotating options but I can't access the CD which I have been prompted to reinstall. Any ideas anyone?

system restore to before you installed the update.

Will system restore roll back the update to SP1 from SP2? I did my last system restore point before updating to SP2.

Reload your Graphics Drivers, If it's onboard Graphics they will be on the Motherboard CD if it's a Card then of the CD or from Graphics Site
