Display problems

Goodness knows how but I've become a computer guru & fixed my neighbours broken PC. New hard drive, fresh install of Windows & all looked rosy. However........ it wont run auto route or show pictures properly. The display is set to only 16 colours & screen size 640 x480. I cant alter them, the slider wont move, & the only other choice is 2 colour. Its a normal monitor & on board graphics card. I'm unsure what to try, & my 'guru' status is slipping. Help please

Sounds like you may have to update the display drivers.

yes i agree with AubreyS,you wil need to instal the graphics driver.until you do this it wont let you alter the settings.

Thanks chaps, I thought as much & have aquired the user manual for the motherboard. Obviously & fortunatly I am online & hope to find something perhaps at driver guide. You may just make me look clever again!
