Display images and font size

There must be an easy answer to this, I've just bought a new
Win.XP with a 17" TFT monitor, whereas before I had 15" now the problem is the images and the menu bar is so small that I have to peer at the screen to see what's what. I've looked everywhere I can think of to increase the size, even Wordpad
defaults to 10 pt, I know I can change each time I use it but I
would like it to default, certainly no smaller than 12 pt.

Anybody know where it all is?

Cheers, gedr.

right click on an mt part of the screen and properties. Then top right tab settings and you should be able to set the screen resolution size using the slider bottom left.

Right click desktop, Properties. Settings tab. Move the screen resolution slider to the left.
