"Disk Write Error..."

  mista 15:32 05 Jul 03

This message has started to show itself whilst trying to back up to floppy:

"Disk Write Error"

Unable to write to disk in drive A.

Data or files may be lost.

Press any key to continue.

Any suggestions as to the cause/remedy?

Could be just a dodgy floppy disk have you tried different ones?

Try a different disk.

Backing up to floppy well if you really want to do this make a few copies.

Thanks guys but floppies used are "tried and tested".

OK then its the drive itself or maybe the cable.

Remove the drive from device manager and reboot Windows will detect it and try again.

Sounds like a failed floppy drive, or the cable. But i say the drive itself has failed.

Powerhouse -

Did exactly as you suggested but problem still exists!

Looks like a "substitution" excercise is on the menu.

Thanks again.
