Disk burning problem

  atomic75 23:59 21 Aug 04

I run XPpro with a hd of 60gb with Athlon XP 1.4 and 512Mb. For the last coupple of months, my asus CRW 4816a has started crashing the pc whenever I attempt to burn to it. I run Norton so I think this could be related, however as I said it has only been the last few months that this actual problem has existed.
Coul it be I simply need a new drive?
Thanks for any help in advance

As soon as you mentioned Norton I started to get suspitious, do you have the norton disk if so try uninstalling (click here you might have to download and run this program to get rid of all traces of it)then try again without it and if it works you could try using the free AVG from grisoft that gets regularly recomended on this forum.
