Disc Image Software

I have a laptop running XP and a netbook running Vista. Have just bought a Western Digital (NTFS capable) external HDD to back up the drives on the lappie etc.

I've used Acronis True Image 8 for my PC's for a good while now but this will not accommodate Vista.

What do you guys use. Advice as to what to buy now sought!

TIA,

db.

Update to Acronis 2009. It is cheaper than buying new.

Apparently you can use TI8 on Vista if you boot from the CD.

Thanks guys!

That's particularly interesting, Tony, cheers. Will look into that further.

After doing a lot more research, this one is like opening a can of worms.

Those of you out there who have the Vista OS and do disc images presumably have formed opinions?

What's the consensus? Acronis True Image has been panned by many reviewers on Amazon, but I'd rather hear what you guys have to say. What about Norton Ghost? Any new kids on the block??

TIA,

db.

Vista can itself make complete system backups.
