Morning, I'm trying to install a printer on my wifes laptop which is about 5 months old and when i insert the disc into the side tray nothing happens. I've put a DVD into it to check and it still does nothing. I'm wondering if there is some setting which is stopping it from working correctly or if it is broken.
Any help in this problem will be great as i need to get this printer installed, cheers.

Hmm, you could try updating the Drives driver from the makers site, but being a new laptop this should not really be necessary. I suspect it may be faulty and recommend returning it for exchange.

Googling shows that you are not alone with this HP problem.

Finally, a long-shot, but if you look in the BIOS you might find that the Drive needs to be enabled. On start-up you should see which key to press to enter Set-up/BIOS.

Good luck. Sorry I can't be more positive.
