Disassociating files

I've downloaded some zip files but they will only open using winzip but my trial copy has run out and I don't want to buy one.

I want to use my other zip program to extract and view these files.

How do I disassociate programs from files so I can use whatever program I like. I'm running Windows XP

In Windows Explorer right click a zip file and choose open with. Tick the box that says "always open With" and select your other program.

Sorry - Open with then choose program at the bottom of the list then as above

winRAR's pretty good for working with zip files, or if you're using winzip, in the options, there should be an assosiation bar or button that says something like 'make winzip the default application for opening .zip file' or something along those lines :)
