I tried to update my son's pc using a standard USB Memory Stick and to my surprise the mouse cursor disappeared! as soon as I took it out of the USB port the cursor reappeared I have tried different memory sticks in another USB port with exactly the same result! Does anyone have an answer? Its a Standard pc running on xp professional sp 2

Thanks but I had tried the obvious stuff, my guess is that the power is not sufficient to drive all the USB ports, it has 4 at the back and they seem not to cause any problems it is only when I use the USB ports at the front of the pc that the problem occurs.

Hi,There was someone on here about 2-3 weeks ago with the same problem,Front 2 ports would not work,But did not notice if he managed to get a fix for it or not.Maybe someone will be able to find it for you.Or help with your problem.
