I have an Athlon 3000+ on which I run Windows XP Home Edition. Yesterday I loaded The Sims 2 for my granddaughter. This prompted me to upgrade my DirectX9 to 9C. The game loaded and played fine but when I tried to go on the internet I was informed that the pape was not available and it appeared all my setting had been interfered with. Using GoBack normal service was resumed but I have still the problem of Loading The Sims. Can anyone throw any light on this please?

I appreciate what it is - but not everyone has broadband...:-)

The link I gave proved perfectly adequate for my requirements when I upgraded to 9c just after it was launched and is a lot less to download on dialup.

If you go to the DirectX home page and click for the ltest DirectX download it takes you to the link I provided.

I know that, but I am saying that I find that the "download manager", for some reason, doesn't always install DirectX onto my system properly...

I do understand what you said about not everyone having BB, but if you have a CD-rw, then you can download the FULL version and burn it to a disk, so you will never need to download DirectX again (apart from the new versions of
