DirectX 9.0 compatible sound/graphics card

I am thinking of buying Photoshop Premiere Elements.

The spec. says PC needs to have:

DirectX 9.0 compatible sound card,
DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics card

My PC is an ACER Aspire 1640 laptop.

How do I find out what my sound & graphics cards are? Is there somewhere in Help where I can find this out? (I have, of course, tried some keywords to no avail).

There is a label on top of the PC which states:

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (?)

Try going to START, RUN and type DXDIAG and see what it says.

Great - yes PC is DirectX 9 - THANKS A BUNCH.

You'll have to check each of the tabs for problems, it tells you at the bottom. If there are no problems found then your laptop should be DirectX 9 compatible. But I'm not really knowledgable about laptops. You would be better getting confirmation from someone else on the forum that knows about these things.
Just want to make sure I don't give bad advice here.

The latest version of DirectX 9c was issued in December.

Yeah but Stuartli can you confirm if you have DirectX 9 and you run DXDIAG and no problems are found that your graphics and sound card are DirectX 9 compatible?
It stands to reason that they are just wanted confirmation though.
