Is it possible to control your house lights from your computer. Somebody I met in college said that they had this set-up but I din't believe them at the time. I assume it would be expensive if it was possible, but does anybody know if it is??

You could do this by connecting a PLC (programmable logic controller) up to your computer.
Why you'd ever want to is anyones guess.

my Dad controlled the heating from his Apple II back in the late 1970s - he had temperature sensors wired up to the machine via some code he'd written! I guess anything is possible ...

Not interested in doing it (yet!) but was just wondering if it was possible, Thanks all.
