I looked for optical zoom, rather than digital, and a 16Mb memory card, as I couldn't afford a card as well as a camera. Mine, a Fuji A204 was about £160.00 when I bought it last year. It's excellent. HTH TR

how many pics can 16mb hold?

I would advise making sure that the camera is at least 2 megapixels. This will print out a good quality 10x8. Don't take any notice of digital zoom, as this is useless. You can resize the pic when you have put it onto your pc. Optical zoom is useful.

And you don't need firewire. USB is the common way of uploading to your pc.

We have a Fuji A201. Bought it a couple of years ago. Very easy to use and good quality pics. You can get them for less than £80 now. Be aware though that Fuji use a relatively new storage card format, which isn't as cheap as some of the other formats.

click here PC World main page. Look to the bottom of page and they have a Kodak at half price. £129.99 4mp 3x zoom.

Don't be put off by the fact it's a Kodak, they are excellent cameras. I have the DX 6340 3.1 mp and the photo's are outstanding. Also very important, it's so easy to use that you will not want to put it down.

Point and click for a perfect shot, but also plenty of options for manual use as well. j.

can highly recommend a casio gv-r40 tho its a little more expensive than what you want, they do a gv-r30 for a little less, 1mp less but same features.

Just make sure it is not less than 2mp and that it has optical zoom. Go here and click on your price range and browse. click here
