Difficulty in downloading files

I am often plagued by files not being downloaded to my computer over the internet.
A typical example is the pdf file from Sainsbury's, giving details of wine offers at Calais.
When I click on the link I get a 'done' message at the lower left hand side of the screen, and a strange icon on the screen proper, but thats it!
I have Adobe Acrobat 6 open, and also Zonealarm running - is it possible that this is blocking the files?

Ref: to the Sainsbury Calais price list,as we are now in August could it be that the July price list has been removed (I couldn't download it either, although I didn't get the Icon you mention)

describe the icon?

Have you tried right clicking the link and selecting Save As. Save to your drive and see if double clicking it opens it in Adobe Reader.

Thanks for your replies.
The icon I mentioned is a small square with a blue triangle at the bottom, a red square above and a circle on the right hand side.
Saving the file as a document, then opening with Acrobat overcame the problem.
Many thanks.
