When I am logged onto my laptop I can type @ via shift'
When the missus logs onto my laptop and tries to do the same she ends up typing " which should be via shift2.
Does anyone know how I can change it and tell me why it is happening.

if in the Uk go to region and language.
make sure everything is english Uk and If English US also appears remove to US bit.
Then when you press the @ button it should work Ok that way.
