Hi I am look at buying a Dell PC with this chip:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+

But they are giving me the option to have this cheap instead - for the same price:

AMD Live Technology - Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+

Whats the difference, and which one is better for using for home office and photos? (I wont be playing games or doing video work)

thanks, James

No difference in processor. AMD Live is a set of applications a bit like media center.
The AMD LIVE!™ family includes products, applications, and services designed to work together for the ultimate entertainment experience—virtually anytime, anywhere.

What's the model number ? Laptop or desktop? It may be an `energy efficient` low power version of the same processor; click here

Nothing lost by having live.
