You do not appear to have given deatils of two drives.

ATA drives are now either 100, 133. This reflects their access speed.

The cache is 2mb or 8MB this is another factor which increases access speed.

5400 and 7200 are the speed which the disks revolve at -= again the faster it spins the quicker data can be accessed.

So a 133ATA, 8MB cache 7200rpm drive is faster than a 100ATA 2MB cache 5400rpm drive.

they are both barracuda 120 gig hd.
one is ata the other 8mb cache.

Do they both use the same cable?

They will both be ATA.

Is one shown as 2MB cache and the other 8MB?

no afraid not.

These details are what they are showing on a web site.

What website - can you post the link

My guess is - is that the first one is 2MB cache - I assume the second one is more expensive?

this is the site 4 you 2 have a look at

I always go here cause i think it is really cheap.

But which hard drive???????

The more expensive drive has an 8MB cache as opposed to 2mb. The 8MB is better for the reasons stated above.
