Did MS updates screw my system ?

If so can I get it back?
An up date notice came up and I allowed it to go ahead,
See click here
FireFox lost its bookmarks and is still behaving strangely
Also as I do other stuff- some programs seem to have 'lost' bits - for example elements of PainPaint Shop have gone AWOL.[Though this program is prone to lose bits and needs 'repair' from time to time]
System Restore has dud points as far back as it will go- end of July- although it notes various changes as they have taken place the restore point fails.

So is there any procedure to jerk missing files back into place?

The final I guess could be SFC /scannow.
but would itbring back those deleted files?

SFC only repairs system files

The answer to you Headline Question is probably YES. Some couple of months ago I was having terrible trouble everytime I received Updates from MS. I followed all the advice and instructions from Forum Members but to no avail. Then all of a sudden problem went away.

So I trust the same will happen for you.
