If you can get into Safe Mode with Command Prompt (keep tapping F8 on bootup) then type

and hit Enter.

Will it boot without the Scanner?

PS you should not plug in or unplug a parallel Device while the power is on at the wall plug or you will damage something may be Mobo

As Vog reply Have you tried Getting into Safe Mode by keep tapping F8 as Computer Starts it's at top of list. Then if you can get back into windows in Safe, Try a System Restore to a date before the problem
