dialup connection wizard doesnt recognise my modem

Whe I try to make a new dialup connection to work through the wizard the option to use a modem is greyed out, my modem works fine with hyper terminal, I connect to the internet through a broadband cable modem

then its not dial up.thats why its greyed out.are you using controlpanel/networkconnections/setupwizard?also which operating system and isp? please.

sorry, I missunderstood, I connect to broadband via usb but the dial up is via a modem and telephone line, modem diagnostics recognises the modem

i afraid im no expert on this but dial up and bb on one computer can cause probs so im told.

Huggy, have tried the first 2 no luck, will uninstall cable modem software in the morning and try setting up dialup first
