I keep getting a pop up message that a dialer is present in something called the system restore area. (11.ba it says.)Run AVG to get rid of it is the instruction.
AVG and adaware and spybot find nothing. Why does the message keep reappearing?

Is this an AVG pop-up?

If it is in a system restore point then turning SR off then on again will remove it but delete all of your existing restore points. click here

You must switch off system restore first. Then run AVG / Adaware / Spybot.

Then switch system rstore back on.

Start>Programs>Accesories>System Tools>System Restore>System Restore Settings
