I have w98/XP pro dual booting. On XP, when I configure isp dial up either manually or with file on floppy, everything is fine until I reeboot, after that the connection fouls up and I can hear "please hang up" from the modem . I have tried different drivers, another modem with no success. W98 connection is fine. Any ideas ?

I know this seems obvious but when I configured a dial up for a friend recently for some strange reason the dialling code kept disappearing everytime I had to log on and I had to keep manually adding the extra 5 digits.

In relation to my original post I should have added that once this problem happens, the only cure is to reinstall drivers. Also the sound of the dial up connection is stunted after reboot.
