dial-up problem

Heres something curious!
I run XPPro...
When I dial up using 'start', 'connect to', 'isdn2' it connects correctly, and then if I open IE6 it says I'm not connected! Running cmd and ipconfig /all it doesn't display a DNS server (presumably the reason for the failure).
However, when I run IE6, it selects 'ISDN1' and connects correctly!!
Whats curious is that ISDN2 is my default connection (not ISDN1). Why should this be - surely it should use ISDN2? Has something hijacked my dial up configuration?
Can anyone help - I've tried resetting the default connection, and all my dial up connections obtain IP and DNS addresses automatically.
