dial up password will not change

I have reconfigured my machine to a new operating system [Win2000]
In setting up the Dial up I have made a boo-boo of the password [typed it twice]
so that each time the dial up comes up it shows the incorrect one and I have to delete
it and type in the correct one.
I do not use a pass word for the machine,so the change password function is not an option-
or is it?[ As there is no password I cannot 'change it]

To rectify this I have, deleted the dial up and made a new one, NO GO still old wrong password.
I have scrubbed all internet connections and made from new using the Wizard and selected 'Manual' to ensure the correct password is entered.
I then shut the machine down and restarted - Still the wrong one pops up.

Whats to do now?

Try right clicking in the blue bar at the top of the box. You may get the option to unlock the password.
