Dial Up Password

  gusco 08:17 03 Apr 04

I'm on XP Home, when I use IE6 to connect to the net, I get the dial up connection tab, asking for my user name and password.
I enter both correctly, click on remember password, and connect automaticly.

Everything works fine and connects. when I disconnect from the internet and try to reconnect the dial up tab comes up but this time there are sixteen (16) characters in the password tab. I try to connect but my ISP informs me that wrong password is supllied. If I delete all the password characters and enter the correct password all is well. but disconnecting and reconnecting the same happens again. please help.

Windows xp puts 16 dots in whatever the length of the password for security reasons

Can I suggest you create a new connection using the wizard in control panel/network connections and then assuming it is successful, delete the old one
