dial up connection Win 98 se

I have a problem with the dial up connection on my machine.
Basically someone has visited some dodgy internet sites and as a conscequence my dial up connection has been hijacked by some program.
The sympoms are as follows:
When I delete the existing connections and create a new one it reverts back to the rogue connection.Which by the way looks like an ip address rather than the usual dial up number.
I have also found a text file that lists a lot international dial up destinations. This is dated at the same time the individual accessed the internet.
How do I go about rooting out this program that is causing this problem?
Any help much appreciated.
