dial up connection where`s the gadget gone?

  happ 15:43 17 Nov 03

I`ve recently re-installed xp and I seem to have lost the little gadget in the task bar near the clock which I used to turn off the connection
any Ideas how I can get this back because I can`t find any other way to turn off the connection.
thanks eric

Go into the properties of the dial up connection and there should be an option to "show when connected in system tray" - have a look there somewhere for that (I don't have the exact terminology as I don't use XP any more).

network connections, right click your connection, properties and it's at the bottom "show icon in notification area when connected"

Told you I didn't know the terminology... but the idea was there. Oh well ;-}
