Dial-Up connection Problem

My friend has a Dial-Up connection with Wanadoo and whenever he connects to the internet it always displays on any page the 'Page cannot be displayed' message. He has tried pinging the wanadoo server and it came back fine. He has also used the help and support assistant in Windows XP. None of these has seemed to get it working.

Thanks for your help.

Which browser?
If it is Internet Explorer.
Download for him and burn on a disk one of the others- Firefox is the current flavour of the month.
See what happens then.
How are the pages required entered?
Are they being typed in?
Perhaps the correct verbiage is not being used.
i.e. [ www. xxxxxx. com] etc., bearing mind that no spacings are used. I have done so here so that you do not get a 'click here'.
Or If Google/Yahoo is openable work through that.
