I run Windows 98SE.When working from the Desktop
the "Dial Up Connection" window keeps appearing
on a frequent although random basis.I click on cancel or close to remove thw window and sometimes have to do this many more than once.Occasionally the window won't cancel and I have to restart the PC.Any tips please.

This is sometimes related to a recent website you have visited, inviting you to go there.
question is which one?
Clear your cookie and Temp files see if that shuts it up.

roughly when did it start, and are you running Norton AV???

Tools/Internet Options/Connections/ tick Never Dial a Connection. That wqill stop it but the downside is it will also stop any auto updates you have scheduled.
