Diagnostics tool

Hi, A few days ago I finally finished troubleshooting a computer that took me forever. Does anyone have any suggestions on a really good diagnostics tool or equipment that I can buy to check for all problems on a computer, for Motherboard, CPU, Memory everything in general; something to save me time and hours from troubleshooting. A good example for a diagnostic tool is if PC won't boot all the way and I can't use the DVD or CD rom dives, something I can attach to the motherboard, even if the computer boots all the way to desktop, something that the experts use.
thanks
