DeviceIO Notification Windows. I keep receiving the above when I shut down Window, even when all programs are closed down properly.

I have recently Formatted & re-install Windows XP Home, all the programs are working so there seems no problem there.

Go to Device Manager, check you have got all the correct drivers loaded. These should not be any coloured icons It is a Hardware problem not a Program. Note it says Device input output

I have checked Device Manager all the drivers are correct,

I know this thread is over 18montsh old, but in case some one stumbles across this via Google, as I did, I may have an answer.

The device I O Notification error often crops up after installing an HP all in one printer.

I found that by going to Start -> Run, typing msconfig, hit enter.

Navigate to the Startup Tab and deselect HP Digital Imaging Monitor.

After a power cycle the shut down error should be resolved.
