Device Manager

I use my laptop as my main PC.

However, I've just installed SP3 for XP on my other PC (which I haven't used for some time) plus other updates and now I can't see any devices in Device Manager.

Any ideas?

Remove SP3 and try again or run System Restore back to before install

did you have your Av running during the SP3 install?

Yes - I had AVG running.

System Restore didn't cure it. How do I uninstall SP3?

Sorry - I missed the link. I downloaded the Fix file and ran it but no change.

As woodchip, try sys restore before the installation. If successful then download SP3 to your desktop from here; click here . Disconnect from internet and disable firewall and AV and any real-time scanning antispyware.
Install SP3, reboot and reinstate your security programs. Reconnect to internet.

From Add Remove Programs in Control Panel. Tick the box to show updates

I'm not sure you can uninstall SP3 if downloaded via windows update. If you can then fine, if not then try sys restore in safe mode.

Jim T You can uninstall SP3 via Control Panel - Add/Remove Progtammes. Then follow rdave13 advice but install in safe mode having downloaded SP3 to desktop from MS site for developers
