i have a win XP pro SP2 desktop that will not boot. how can i can my computer so i can retrieve my email messages and contact. my primary drive (c) could not be located. thanks.

Try starting in Safe mode ... keep pressing F8 on Boot-up. You might then be able to do a System Restore from Safe mode.

Ye if you can get into safe mode your probably ok.

Also, if you are experienced with PCs, try opening your PC and checking all the connections to your Hard Disk are OK. That may be your problem.

tried booting in safe mode but it did go into safe mode. i just got error message "invalid system disk".
FYI when the computer boots up it dispaly's the memory size as well identify secondary drive. it does not detect the primary drive.

will try checking the connections of the hard drive as suggested by A-Nonymous
