Desktop wallpaper

I've installed a picture of some clouds on my desktop. Yes I know, very original... The desktop behind the icon lettering is showing as the original sickly green colour. Is there a way to make the back of the icon lettering the same colour as the new wallpaper?
Thanks,

I don,t know of a solution but will be watching this thread with interest as this is something I will be interested in finding out as I would like to do the same.

You could try click here Desktop manager, apparently "There are several little tweaks that you can apply to the desktop such as making icon text have a transparent background "

From the above link ...

"TransText is a small shell extension for Windows95/98/Me/NT/2000"

My OS is win98 (first ed). I did an upgrade to ME but what a nightmare!!! So reformat, reload and back to 98.
