desktop taskbar disappears

Whilst working online, the xp taskbar at bottom of screen disappears. Few seconds later the desktop icons disappear. I can continue working on the web page, but when I 'minimise' the web page I am working on also disappears, together with all the desktop icons. This leaves me witha blank background page.

I reboot the computer and the task bar and desktop icons come back on again.

If this cannot be fixed, is there a way of getting the taskbar and desktop icons back without switching the computer off?

This means I have to keep rebooting my computer and therefore lose work. Can you help please?

Thanks. Dave

Try this; click here scroll down to 195 and click on 'restore desktop icons and taskbar' in the right hand column.
