desktop shortcuts

I have arranged my shorcuts where I want them, but after rebooting they all revert to the left hand side of my screen. How do i stop this happening please?

Right click anywhere on desktop, click Arrange Icons By and from the following window just make sure that only Show Desktop Icons is ticked.

Try right clicking an empty space on the Desktop, then choose Arrange Icons by... then make sure the Auto Arrange option isn't ticked. Select the Align to Grid option.

What version of Windows are you using?

If you use Align to Grid then you can/should be able to drop them anywhere you wish.

Thats what I dont understand, it just reverts all the icons to the left even though I have ticked align to grid.

Nor me. Mine is set to Align to Grid and I place the icons in groups as and where they are most used.

Just a thought, but have you saved the current config as a theme and set the properties to display that scheme?

No I havent touched a thing its just started to do this. Have run all virus and malware spyware checks all clear. Its a complete mystery.
