Desktop Shortcuts

I created shortcuts on my desktop for my DVD drive and CDR drive. However when I right click on them to look at the contents of a CD I just get the 'Windows is searching for D:\ or E:\' and eventually 'The target this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved'. Why is this happening?

This sounds really simple, so apologies if it feels like I'm telling you something obvious, but have you installed a new drive recently...or changed from Windows 98 to XP, as this would change you drive letters.

Just delete them and re-create them again.

As above, delete and create them again. The best way is to right click on the drive itself and choose "Send to desktop as a shortcut" j.
