Desktop Replacement Acer or HP

Which of these two 17.3 Inch laptops should I go for? acer aspire 7750 I3-2330m or HP Pavilion g7-1204sa The specs price etc are very similar and both are in my price range. Areas I am most concerned about are build quality and onboard sound.

Part of a review from an Amazon customer regarding sound on the HP model -

If listening to music through the laptop's speakers is your only option then you might as well cut off your ears. I'm sure it will sound better played through an external sound system - it couldn't fail to - but for me this isn't an option. The sound on my previous laptop wasn't exactly great, so my expectations were not too high, but this machine managed to limbo beneath the bar.

Personally, I like Acer. We have 3 Acer's in the family and not had any problems, one of which is 8yrs old.

You will get answers good and ill for both types, so it will probably come down o which you feel the most comfortable with.

Do a search on this site for Acer then do another for HP, see which comes up with less threads / problems.

Have 3 HP laptops, one running win 98 one win 2000 pro shows how old these two are.

Personally I wouldn't consider buying an Acer as seen too many problems with them, a lot of which were not repairable.
