Desktop Icons

Hello - I cannot create desktop icons for removable storage devices that work. I drag from "my computer" O.K.but when I click on the shortcut a message informs me that the shortcut is invalid, because it's been changed or moved.
Feel like a blinking novice and although its not life threatening any comments, not too rude would be welcomed. (Drives A,D,E,G.)

Try right clicking and selecting send to desktop as short cut,may work.

Sorry to state the obvious, but do you have a disk in the drive when you try to click? If not, you may get an error.

Should say "please insert disc in drive*"if no disc loaded.

what i find useful is to create a shortcut to my computer on the desktop then drag this right off the screen to the right hand side.

right click this new toolbar and tick "auto hide"

delete the old my computer shortcut.

now i have access to all my drives just by moving the mouse to the right side off the screen.

In that case, try TweakUI's option to repair icons.

Actually, ignore that. It is a shortcut error, not an icon error.
