desktop doesnt see wireless card

Ihave put a wireless card into a vacant slot and restarted the machine but do not get any message that its found. there is a 2nd slot which i tried but still no joy. Is it broken?

Have you made sure it is fully pushed down into the motherboard connector? Had a similar problem with a network card that wasn't recognised on boot up but it wasn't properly seated into the PCI connector.

I think its in OK and ive tried it in the other spare as well.

Does it show up in Device Manager (Assuming you are running Windows)? Any yellow triangle next to it? if so would indicate probably need to connect PC via other network source (e.g ethernet cable) and download required drivers.

If no sign of it at all, and its fully pushed home into the connector then it looks as though it's not being recognised so likely not functioning. Has the wireless card worked before in another PC?

Ive tried a new card and this works, the other one must have been a dud. Thanks for the help.
