this may seem very a silly question but my desktop drive is taking up a lot of work space can i stand it on its side or will this prevent me using the cd drive.
many thanks

I have done it before. It is not totally impractical.

If you don't already have a keyboard shelf, that will help a lot more as the keyboard can be slid away when not in use. It costs about £15 and just screws to the underside of the desktop. You will need a hole in the back of the desk to get the leads into the system unit.
